Mass for Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. During this month, all people are invited to increase our awareness, to educate ourselves and our communities, and to seek healing for those who have been so tragically impacted by the scourge of child abuse. As people of faith who respect the life and dignity of every human person, ensuring the safety of children is a God-given responsibility.
To mark the beginning of this month-long observance, Archbishop Etienne will celebrate Mass at St. James Cathedral on Monday, April 4 at 8:00am. During this Mass, we will acknowledge the sins and failings of the past, pray for all victim survivors of abuse, and strengthen our resolve that every home, school and parish will be a safe place for children.
