Serving Others

Opportunities to get involved

In the Archdiocese of Seattle there is ample opportunity to get involved in the community through your parish or other Catholic organizations.

Catholic Community Services

Catholic Community Services (CCS) and Catholic Housing Services (CHS) of Western Washington are your local Catholic charity agencies  providing help and hope for men, women, children and families for over a century.

Catholic Community Services (CCS) was founded in 1918 on Catholic social teaching that provides a compelling challenge for responsible living as well as a deliberate preference for serving the most vulnerable.

CCS is comprised of 13 family centers located throughout Western Washington and the Long-Term Care and Family Behavioral Health systems.  CCS serves over 105,000 men, women and children annually.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

St. Vincent de Paul has been doing work locally for close to 100 years and around the world for 185 years. St. Vincent de Paul  is made up of more than 50 neighborhood-based conferences — all-volunteer Vincentian neighborhood support groups — who make personal in-home visits and personal contacts to help people with survival and self-sufficiency support. They listen, engage, and build relationships that advocate for individuals and families to meet basic needs and achieve self-sufficiency.
